Greg’s unique understanding of Energy and Dynamic Analysis allows him to construct computer models to predict the behavior of almost any system. Although these models eventually need tweaking to match results from testing, they do offer unique insights that often point out behaviors before they go to testing that might not otherwise be foreseen, heading off the significantly greater expense of learning from testing what doesn’t work. The product is ultimately developed in parallel with improvements to the software, so that only a few final tests are required to calibrate and validate the computer model which can then be used to support the product in the marketplace. Quick and accurate answers to the what-if’s can often be provided in minutes by the software rather than spending days and weeks on further testing of an idea that may or may not work out.
Greg has also developed many test methods to measure behaviors of equipment and systems that are not contemplated by the standards, or that ultimately have made it into the ANSI Z359 and CSA Z259 standards.
